|||||
The BT Series Tank is a relatively new concept in the water storage market place, having been developed within the last 20-30 years. It is rectangular membrane lined modular steel tank with no internal structure that is exposed to the water environment and potential corrosion. BT Series is essentially a combination of the concepts of the YT Series & the ST Series Tanks. Galvanized steel walls are supported and held in position by hot dip galvanized universal beams that run vertically up the wall at 1.2m intervals around the tank, they are anchored to the concrete slab and tied across the top of the tank to provide a corrosion free rectangular structure. Advantages of BT Series: Able to fit into confined or irregular space Less capital outlay that the ST Series Sits flat on a slab at ground level, no need for dwarf walls or piers. No internal structure, which eliminates corrosion and reduces maintenance costs Can be built up to 7 meters tall Where space is at a Premium BT Series tank is an ideal solution for bulk water storage indoors or out. A wide range of shapes and any length or width can be catered for, with a maximum height of 7m. Using steel u-beams, a structure is formed which eliminates the need for internal bracing. Steel panels are bolted between the sections and the interior is fitted with an open top one-piece membrane liner. Alternative covers are available either flat with a raised ball valve housing for indoor use, or with a low profile pitch for outdoor use. BT Series tanks can be located on any suitable flat load-bearing surface, such as an existing reinforced concrete floor, or rooftop, and are simply bolted to the floor surface. A variety of shapes and sizes can be supplied. Existing obstructions such as building support columns can be encapsulated within the tank by ‘sleeving’ the flexible membrane liner around them. Ease and speed of assembly, no sealants are used in the construction of the tank. All that is required is straightforward site assembly. Simplicity of foundations. There is no need to seal the tank to the concrete foundation. The flexible membrane liner has a floor in it and the tank shell is simply bolted to the foundation. Low maintenance. The outer steelwork structure is hot dip galvanized to. Internally the flexible membrane liner will not rot or degrade in the same way that other coatings and finishes do, under normal water storage conditions. Capacities From 10m 3 upwards. Dimensions Length: From 2.290m increasing in increments of 1.145m. Widths: From 2.290m increasing in increments of 1.145m up to a maximum of 12.0m. Heights: From 1.2m up to 7m maximum. Ancillaries/Accessories A wide range of extra equipment and fittings are available, including:- Ball float valves, high and low level switches, internal ladders and sump liners. Standard accessories include: Immersion heater (where situated outdoors), anti-vortex device, contents gauge, external ladder and landing, WRc Type ‘A’ airgap. Foundations All that is required is a flat load bearing slab. Level tolerance +/- 6.0mm across slab. Calculation of tank loading (full) is by multiplying the rim height by 9.81 = kN/m 2 . |
